Gravel e-bike tour in the heart of Sicily
Tour the heart of Sicily on our brand new gravel e-bikes. This is a journey through secret Sicily, full of history, archaeology, culture, food and wine. Admire the Norman castles, old villages, archaeological sites, quiet roads and trails, delicious local food and very comfortable accommodation. This is a new way to travel and explore Sicily!
First day • Arrival
Arrival at the airport and transfer to hotel in Catania. Dinner and overnight stay in local hotel.
Second day • The Norman castles of Catania and Aci Castello
30 km with 100 metres of uphill ascent
Highlights: Visit Catania’s old town, Ursino castle and Aci Castello castle while stopping for a taste of local Sicilian street-food along the way. Dinner and overnight stay in local hotel.
Third day • Paternò – Troina
50 km with 900 metres of uphill ascent
Highlights: Cycle on quiet, old Roman roads past miles of citrus groves and admire the stunning Sicilian countryside before arriving at a Norman village. Dinner and overnight stay in restored rural farmhouse with pool and wellness centre.
Fourth day • Troina – Nicosia
43 km with 1.100 metres of uphill ascent
Highlights: Ride through winding pastures and valleys in the remote province of Enna leading to a beautiful medieval village. Dinner and overnight stay at local farmhouse.
Fifth day • Nicosia – Sperlinga – Leonforte
60 km with 1.200 metres of uphill ascent
Highlights: Admire the old Sicilian cave houses and a beautiful medieval castle along with beer tasting at a local craft brewery. Dinner and overnight stay at local farmhouse.
Sixth day • Leonforte – Piazza Armerina
30 km with 800 metres of uphill ascent
Highlights: Visit a former important sulphur mining site, cycle the disused railway line, visit Piazza Armerina and the famous Roman mosaics. Dinner and overnight stay at local farmhouse hotel.
Seventh day • Piazza Armerina – Morgantina – Catania
50 km with 800 metres of uphill ascent
Highlights: See Aidone and visit the archaeological site of Morgantina before turning back towards Mount Etna and have a walk around Catania centre. Overnight stay at city centre hotel.
Eighth day • Departure
Transfer from the hotel to Catania airport.
Season: from September to June

What to wear and bring with you:
- A small backpack/rucksack for your personal items (you can leave this in the van if you don’t want to take it with you during the excursion)
- Comfortable clothes suitable for biking
- A change of clothes in case it rains
- Closed shoes e.g. trainers or biking shoes (no flip-flops or sandals!)
- Sunglasses & sun cream
- A camera or smartphone if you want to take pictures
